Pit People, the popular turn-based strategy game from developer The Behemoth, has just received one of its biggest updates yet. Update 7d — dubbed the “Toybox Update” — brings with it a brand-new playable character class, new abilities, dozens of new items, and plenty of other improvements.

The new playable character class is called “Piy Ppl” — a race of fun-loving creatures with roly-poly bodies and a sunny disposition. These characters have access to special abilities that can help them crowd control, heal their targets, and summon creatures. Piy Ppl also have the capability to control the battlefield with the “Whirlwind” ability.

The Toybox Update also adds several new weapons and items to Pit People and additional customizations for characters. Players can now spruce up their character with dozens of new hats and other equipment pieces, including some themed after other popular games from The Behemoth.

The update also brings an improved single-player mode, with revamps to the tutorial as well as the addition of an easier difficulty setting. There are new achievements and trophies, plus tweaks to the leaderboards page and more.

Finally, the Pit People Toybox Update includes several bug fixes and balance adjustments for both single and multiplayer modes.

The Pit People Toybox Update is free to existing owners of the game and is currently available on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. This update marks the first of several planned free updates set to come out later this year.
